Yep, we got it. Foot of snow outside the house and I can't imagine how bad the drifts are out in the open. It's 7 below right now and headed down. On top of that, the batteries on the New Holland 8360 chore tractor are shot and won't take a boost. Long, slow trip out early tomorrow to get new batteries. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...or something...

10 miles west of Duluth, mn.
lots of snow and wind , getting ready
for a 3:00 am start.
Merry Christmas everybody

Jim

I hear ya, The oliver with that nice heated cab I was looking so forward to blowing with started right up, BUT that bargain blower is giving me trouble. PTO wont stay on the tractor, I can not get that retaining butten to snap back, gotta be something wrong with that new shaft, Before it came off it doesnt seem like the blower want to throw the snow, I am hoping it's just because it needs ALOT of snow to really throw it. It's 8' wide x 4.5' tall with 3 augers. Came in not to long ago from using the 544 and the smaller blower, holy smoley roley is it cold and windy out there, my eye were watering and when I blinked they would freeze shut, kinda like whenyou wake up in the morning with crusted pink eye, first time that happened to me. Hope things get better for you up there looks like your getting the bulk of the snow and should have -30 windchill right about now. Were at -20 and winds and temp are getting worse.

Yep, It's nasty. Blower is on the 6070 Allis Chalmers, heated cab was nice blowing snow this evening. Feeding cows was a different story. 170 Allis Chalmers with a heat houser. Wind is blowing so darned hard there was no heat coming off the engine to do any good. At least it blocked the wind though. Sure am glad I put the heat houser and chains on yesterday when it was nice! I'd say we got about 10 inches, but it is drifting so bad it is really hard to tell. Blowing the driveways I know there were drifts 3 feet deep or better.

hey in glad to see you ain't snowed in yet.
we got up to 40 today now we're going down in temp i went outside about 8:00 pm has been raining changing to sleet and snow.
my road is a mess and has been about 2 weeks i'm ready for march and new calves.
do you need a good bull?

Not to ruffle your feathers. But why would you wait to get batteries till after the storm, when ya knew the storm was on its way ? I am very much enjoying a day with the family by the comfort of the wood stove !!!

Are you learning to like these Minnesota winters yet ??
It ain't about gettin cold, It's the warmin up that makes it worth while. Ms Minnesota can explain that part to ya. Enjoy it while ya can, the days will be gettin longer in another week.

Just a trace of snow. It was 63deg. today at noon,9:48pm it is 28deg. and freezing rain, calling for 2in. by noon Monday. Kevin, North Missouri

Thought I could get by with 'em after shining up the terminals yesterday but today they gave up the ghost. Storm is over now, just the wind now.

Try moving faster ground speed with that blower? RPM's all the way up? Sucks about the shaft. That thing come off when it's spinning at full RPM? Scary...

My snotty nose was freezing up filling the wood boiler tonight...and that was outta the wind.

I know exactly what you mean. I cleaned up the term. and replaced a questionable ground strap on the 2440 thinking that was the problem with the 6 yr. old batteries. Of course it wasn't. When you think about it if the batteries cost about $120 and you get 6 yrs. out of them thats $1.67 per month. I spent about an hours time to try and get a couple months more life out of them for a savings of $3.74. But I didn't even get that as they only lasted about 2 weeks more. Oh well live and learn. But I'll probably do it again.

About 6 degrees here at 11pm. It was 38 this morning. It snowed over 3 inches just in the last couple hours. It is also VERY windy. So much for "Global Warming"

I'm about 2 hours NW of Grand Forks, and we pretty much got cheated out of a lot of new snow here. LOTS of wind, some new snow, and the stuff that was already here sure got rearranged!
