I recently purchased a Massey Ferguson 35. Referencing the serial number it appears to be a 1963. I have been doing some front end work on it and slowly repainting parts as I replace them. When I did a little cleaning up on the engine block I discovered that it is green! The head is red under the grey as are the rest of the chassis parts. Not sure what this means. I thought the green belly was only made up until "56.

Multitudes of old Fergies around that were re-built with parts from other tractors. May be an engine from an older tractor.

That was my thinking. The previous owner did not know any history of it being rebuilt, however, he was not the original owner and the tach is disconnected and shows only 2700 hours.
