Inside-out upside down loader?

I was just checking out the photo-ads on this site and saw a Case 1090 with a loader that looked odd at first. Then I took a second look and it look like the arms of the loader are upside down as the curve is opposite of "normal". And the loader cylinders are outside the arms instead of under. Anyone seen a loader like this before or is it a custom job..and why? Must have a good reason because it looked like alot of work.

its a shame it doesnt have the whole thing in the pictire it does indeed look like the loader arms are upside down, i too am betting it has been adapted for a special use but im courious what it does , now

It's a "DU-AL" brand loader. Parts are now handled by "Woods". Fairly common loader in the ag community.

so , when the loader is in the down position the front arms where the bucket attaches are paralell with the tractor frame? ive heard of the brand, but i guess i havent seen this model

Yes, the arms are parellel with the loader sub frame in the down position. I have one on my 806. It is supposed to be a "quick-attach" but it took me a half a day to get it "attached". There is an oil tank built into the frame on the right hand side, but I just plug in direct to the hydraulics on the tractor since the tank is rusty. I think it is a model 3606. Got seal kits for the cylinders at Woods dealer this summer. I think the loader is about 30 years old or so. Still good and seems to have a high lift with the strange arrangement.

Yes they are strange Allan.

I have never seen one like it, before your picture here.

Did you get my email?

Gary

Better visability around the front of tractor when loader is close to ground You don't have to look over loader arms.

OK, thanks Allan, now it makes 100% sense. In the origianl photo I couldn't tell the arms had one more angle to them, I thought they were just the standard one-bend type. This makes a lot of sense now.

Hope you missed the ice and snow we got in IA last night, was a nightmare on the roads today here.
