Beautiful thing to wake up to.Where I live in northeast CT most of the rainbows we see from our house are doubles for some reason.Always a beautiful sight.

Good morning Walt, it was beautiful this morning. That hillside below the rainbow was the Newton place, Mr. Newton was killed up there on a Farmall M in the prune orchard. Right down the hill from your house and to your left is the old Antioch school house at the T in the road of Cooper Hollow and Fishback roads. Your place was the Clyde Parks place when I was growing up. Behind the second rainbow and to the left over that hill was where I grew up....James

Matt,
That would be about right.Picture was taken toward the southeast.Where are you located in Woodstock?
Vito

Andy,
That's the one I bought your M&W hand throttle for.1951 H.Too bad I had to thin out the herd ( economy)and that became the casualty.Sold it to a nice gentleman that will keep it in state and take go care of it.Orange one might be next if I can get the money for it.Don't need any snow for the rough sledding this year.

James, I bought the place in 1992 it had been owned by a so-called carpenter for two years who bought it from Clyde's wife who was the actual owner of the property passed down from her ancestors since 1871 when it was built.

The school house is a family home now has been rebuilt many times over the years.

If you still live or visit the area stop by some time I' in the phone. We can talk about the old days.
Walt

Yes Walt, I live in Dallas and work for the city water dept. Where do you grow your christmas trees? We grew them just south of your place on what used to be known as thousand acres....James

Smith Rd. a 100 acre farm on the south side just west of Fishback rd. Give ne a call tomorrow I'll be home all day as far as I know.

I noticed the same scene here in Oz after a shower of rain, notice the colors are in reverse, Julius Sumner Miller used to say "why is it so".. thats my question???

My Mother [rest her soul] told me once that she remembered the colours by the phrase.. "read over your books in verse", the first letter of each word represented the colour.
red.orange,yellow blue, indigo, violet.

That mnemonic omits green. Science teacher said we should remember the colors by remembering the name of the inventor of the rainbow: Roy G. Biv.
