What is your favorite tractor??

I'm partial to Massey Ferguson and Oliver's, being that's what I was raised on. I almost think our 1855 is my all time favorite on our farm, despite it being our most recent purchase as far as tractors go. Got it in 2002, and been a good tractor, despite it's poor timing for some break downs. (old hyd. hoses, tires, etc)

They're all good tractors. Face it, if something is what youre use to, what you know how to work on, and what you started with odds are that'll be your color.

Mines orange. And red. And green, off-green, grey, yellow, two more shades of red, another shade of grey, and something else im not thinking of. Theres no perfact tractor, and except for hoyt-clagwells theres no bad ones either.

I forgot one other International 1568 V-8.But from what I understand it only had as much power as a John Deere 2010.

I grew up on fords for the most part, and I will stick with'm as long as I can. In my opinion the best dealer around here is still the NH joint. From my house there is a JD, CIH, and the NH place all within 22 miles. NH is the only one that is still localy owned. Seems to me its kinda funny that the independent dealer can have parts shiped in from the distribution center faster and cheaper than the chain joints can get parts from one of the other stores.

I will have to go with anything that runs and is at least 40 yrs old. If its a john deere then I am really happy and smiling.

mine was our Massey Ferguson 2805 7832 hr when burnt in shop fire tractor was never down one day was our work horse

Ford... no question there. Model? Harder question. Depends on the job. Sometimes the '53 Jubilee, sometimes the '89 TW35... 4600 and 7600 get the most hours though. (Jerry - they are all paid for! [grin])

My 7050 but then when I get on my 190 it's my favorite. Come to think of it I like the WD best when I'm on it. I better get on the d17 today cause that could be the one.

No definate favorite BRAND. Each brand has certain models that I like more than others. Best I can do is list favorite MODELS.

Start with my favorite tractor. Massey Ferguson 150. (diesel/8-speed) A lot of tractor in a little package. Stone reliable, cheap to operate, able to leap tall buildings.....

Deere 4440. Best thing Deere ever produced.

IH 1066 Best LOOKING tractor ANYONE ever produced and not a bad tractor at that.

Ford 5000. (Later model) In spite of the fact that mine snapped a crankshaft w/less than 1000 hours, it was a hard worker.

Best NEW tractor. Sure dolike the 6430 Deere's. (Just don't like the PRICE)

Thurlow nailed it. I wouldn't give a plug nickel for all the rest put together if I could just get my hands on one of those. But are they ever hard to find!

Hey Rick........close, but no cigar; if you'll blow up the picture, you'll see that the ???conflabulatur????.......can never remember the correct term.......has apparently been 'photo-shopped' and is not even on the correct side of the tractor. Proud to see that a few folks..... Bill(Wisc)and others..... appreciate a REAL tractor. My BIL's third ex-wife's next door neighbor saw one at a Young Farmer's and Homemaker's auction last year; fellow turned down better than $200,000 for it and carried it back home.

We always farmed with MF and Oliver although I did have a couple IH tractors for a while. Our best tractor is a MF 150 that grandpa bought new in the late sixties. It now has over 13,000 hrs on it and it's still going strong. Next runner up would be our MF 180.
I didn't keep the Farmall 450 for very long. However, I did have a lot of fun taking it down the road in fifth gear and then kicking that mechanical TA into high range.

Gotta be my 1850 Oliver. As much as I like my old Fleetline Olivers, and as much as they take me back,I always wanted an 1800. Never got one,but the 1850 is even better.

10-4 on the Oliver 77. I have one with a wide front. I had another one with a tricycle front but sold it. That was a mistake. Now if you're talking new tractors then I like my Kubota B3030HSDCC.
