I have been kicking around the idea of rebuilding my present trip loader on my Ford 3000 to turn it into a real loader with a tilt bucket and down pressure. It is very stout construction wise and it has a very heavy frame all around. It is made by Ford and if I were to convert it to a real loader assembly, it would be quite a nice unit to have here on the farm. I have been looking around at complete replacements but they are pretty pricey, and since I have a good amount to start with I think it could be done cheaper, rebuilding the present loaer.I know the pump, valving, and lines are all considerations to think into the finished cost. The bucket was shot anyway so that is a wash. Can any of you fabrication guys chime in and tell me if I am on to something, or am I just nuts.
