dad,s tractor

Dad had his first tractor'an allis wd 'I think'.Parked tractor in grain stuble'decided to burn off the stuble.Set the fire and watched it burn'didn't realize it was burning back toward the tractor. When he looked around he sah that a rear tire was on fire ,with no water available. He was able to get it cranked and started doing dougnuts until he put the fire out.Saved tractor and used tire for a long time. This was in about 1939 Well I have done things just as bad mabey a lot worse. How about you what kind of(dumb stunts) have you pulled and survived to tell about it????/////////

Was working on a 69 GTO I bought with paper route money at 14 and having problems bench pressing the 4speed tranny into place and lining up the pilot bearing.Got terribly frustrated jumped up from under the car and threw a wrench which bounced off the floor, wall and smashed the windshield.Last time I have thrown a wrench 30 years and counting.

computer before this one locked up on me, being as these things hadn't even been thought of when i was in school, i am fairly dumb when it comes to fixing them, after 2 days of trying,i just had to 'learn it a lesson' i threw the big black box in the truck went out to the pasture, tossed it in a ditch and grabbed the truck gun [ marlin 30-30] and emptied the magazine , man that felt good! then i went to buy a new computer, ummm.. that didnt feel so good, now we call the computer guy when it doesnt work, lol

I was burning an 80acre wheat stubble field, had disced a fireguard on 2 sides, other side was plowed ground and the north end ended at a dirt road w/plowed ground on the other side. I started the fire at the south end, then looked back to the north end, saw all those pretty telephone poles sittin' in that end of the field that I had forgotten were there. I jumped back on the tractor and thinks I, I'll outrun the fire to the other end and save those poles. No such luck. My heart was in my throat as I just knew that fire was going to take out a quarter mile of electric line.

Poles didn't burn however, no harm no fowl. I was just 16, so didn't know any better. But I never made that mistake again .
