questions about a MW power gov.

I have a M&W power govenor off of a Farmall M. came off the stuck motor i pulle outta my M. Would it give the tractor a little more get up and go? not really concerned about power or anything but was wondering if it would be to my advantage to put it on my new motor? what is the difference between it and the stock gov.?
thanks

Supposedly, the M&W governor will respond quicker, thus giving better performance. It cannot actually give more power. If the M&W governor is in good condition, use it. You might also consider selling it as they usually bring a premium price.

DF - The M&W governor is more sensitive (ie. has less droop) than the stock IHC unit. Simply means the M&W responds more quickly to load changes than the stock gov. And it will hold RPMs more constant under variable load conditions.

The M&W gov makes the tractor feel more "snappy" under variable load conditions. But it does not increase power. Nor does it offer any advantage over the stock gov under constant speed/constant load conditions.

I have one on my Super M - I much prefer it to than the stock governor!
