rigging a master brake cylinder. how do u do it?

Hi, i have a car and i really dont want to spen $125 for a line-loc. i want to be able to lock the front wheels up so i can do a burnout without having brakes in the rear, but when im done burning out i would like some sort of valve i can turn to allow pressure to the rear wheels. does anybody know of some way to rig the master cylinder so i can do this? any help, thanks

Some of the around 90"s subarus had a brake line lock called the "hill Holder" on them. It can be adapted to what you want.

Aren't tires and gas a bit expensive,to just burn up in a cloud of smoke?? I am trying to change my driving habits to get every bit of a mile from every gallon.. Tires are not cheap, either... I just paid over 400 for 2 front truck tires..

(quoted from post at 19:37:59 06/05/08) clamp a pair of visegrips on the rear flex line, do your burnout, take the visegrips off.

Right direction, but probably not the safest. Sure it was a joke though...

I'd really think twice about the safety of doing this, but, what if you just plumbed in a cutoff valve on the rear line? Might even find one already threaded to fit the MC. I wouldn't do it myself though unless the vehicle was never going to see the street. More at stake than just your life.

(quoted from post at 03:29:09 06/06/08) It doesn't have $125.00 for a line lock to burn off rear tires @$125/ea. Silly, isn't it?

Don't forget... we were all teenagers. We kept a supply of junkyard wheels and tires on hand to keep us going. My first car was a 68 chevelle that was put together from a it along w/ a 69 and 70 given to me from behind someones barn. Go ahead and have your fun Caleb, just do it safe and on your dime.
