Dunham Lehr Inc/Farmhand 22 Loader Bucket Measurements

Hi all, just bought IH 484 with a Dunham Lehr 22 loader with the single tilt cylinder.

It is currently setup with a universal pin on mount and an u bolted hay spear on it.

I was curious if anyone had one with a bucket on it and could take a couple of measurement for me. It looks like on the buckets I've seen online the tilt cylinder is offset and inch or two back towards the tractor from the bucket. Also it is a little lower than the arms I'm sure for leverage.

My setup works, but it doesn't have all the tilt im used to and I'm sure it's due to the cylinder pin on location. I've found some pictures online, but no measurements.

I see one company makes a pin on quick attach setup, but it's pricey. Might be able to modify mine some and potentially get a bucket for it. I just want a bucket for moving material mostly, not really any digging.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Also the distance from the arm pins to the tilt cylinder pins would be great too!

I ve been looking for a quick attach bucket adapter for that loader, but at that price I will keep looking
I have 3 of those loaders, will try to get you some measurements

Agreed on the price, it's more than a new bucket would be.

Thank you in advance for any measurements. I appreciate it.

Frankly they're worth every penny. Well built, fit perfectly, and opens up the world of inexpensive attachments.

Long term I agree, but I believe I can modify what I have for quick attach for cheaper. Just want to confirm dimensions on pins and tilt cylinder.

I can unbolt spear and fab and modify a quick connect setup.

Forgot to mention: Measure the stroke of the bucket cylinder. 1/2 of the cylinder stroke is the closest the pins can be to each other "as the crow flies." The closer they are the more range the bucket dump will have.

You're not getting enough dump, right? What I would do is disconnect the cylinder from the bucket and retract it fully in this case. Tie it back and then lower the loader and pull ahead to roll the bucket to where you feel it's dumped enough. Then you can kind of eyeball where to drill the new pin hole for the cylinder, or relocate the old pin hole.

Thanks for the tip.

I don't currently have a bucket, just the spear. It is operating ok for now. Just don't want to limit the ability of the tilt by taking any leverage out of the equation by not having the pin the correct location. Guess I could do a free body diagram and try to figure it out, but it has been a minute since I was in school doing those...

Got some photos and measurements

mvphoto112686.jpg

Bucket is flat on the backside making it easier to get good measurements

mvphoto112687.jpg

Center of lift arm pins to back of bucket is 2 1/2 inches

mvphoto112688.jpg

Center of tilt cylinder pin to back of bucket is 7 1/2 inches
So tilt cylinder pin is 5 inches farther back than hinge pins
Tilt cylinder mount is 8 inches lower than hinge mount

mvphoto112689.jpg

Tilt cylinder mounting pin to end of barrel is 21 inches

Hope these measurements help

Measurements and pictures help a lot, thank you!

Can you tell me how much distance there is vertically between the arm pins and the tilt cylinder pin?

I believe that 5 inch difference is critical for leverage and dumping the bucket. Any idea how many yard bucket that is?

I appreciate you taking the time to measure and take pictures.

Distance between the arm pins and tilt cylinder pin is 8 inches
Bucket in the photo is about the same size as a standard 6 ft wide skid steer bucket
It’s actually a 4 ft wide manure bucket with bolt on sides making it 6 ft wide
I have bale spears for two of the loaders as that’s all I do with them, I would like to have quick attach plates on them so I can use my skid steer buckets and pallet forks on occasion

I have this for heavy dirt work and bulk material handling

I will likely convert mine over to the skid steer quick attach. I'll make sure to come back and update this thread. I really appreciate you taking the time to get the measurements for me.
