Finally, we get a break from the rain.

After getting 20 inches (about half our yearly average) in 30 days we are now drying out with no rain in sight. 11.5 inches fell in one night. One main cash crop, tobacco, has severe damage, some corn has mold in the ear where rain seeped in past the shuck, beans are doing ok except for those that got under water. This is in W. Ky. Farming Mother Nature can be challenging.

Mid Tenn. 1st time in weeks we've had hay weather. The hay men came today finally. Last thunderstorm was yesterday morning.

I am planning to mow Saturday. We have our second three day good weather forecast in eleven weeks.

Glad to hear ya'll are getting a break. We're getting a break from severe heat. Our overnight low was 70 and they predict the high today will be in the mid-90's. No rain in sight for us, though.

Sorry to hear this. I suspect if the tobacco hasn't flopped, it has come real close from so much water. It's been the direct opposite here. Hot, dry, and stuff starting to burn up. We received the 1st rain in a good while last night. 2 tenths worth. Wasn't much but glad to get it.

i wish i could say the same, going in the opposite direction here in mid-michigan. we had an exceptionally dry start this year, and the onset of mosquito season was delayed by more than a month from normal. but the last 4 weeks have been a monsoon by our standards.

i don't farm, and the trails in the flood plain are already established this year. i just hope i'll be able to mow the lawn today without my finish mower making those slot-car tracks with its wheels. they fogged for the little vampires last night, but only on the road. they apologized for suspending the off-road fogging (they normally do my high ground) due to the rain :(
