Growing old sucks

Well Robin Hood I hope you find happiness. I'm 76 and I am enjoying life and the fruits of my labour. I started working off the farm when I was 13 and I worked ever since until two years ago when I finished strapping a roof and my three kids said that's it Dad. We spend the summers at the cottage on Lake Huron's eastern shore. We entertain and have fun with our cottage neighbours. In the off season I putter in my shop and follow my grandsons hockey. I have two yards to maintain and .two sets of hedges to trim. I am lucky I have my health and I am enjoying life to the fullest. I have a good pension and at this point I have more disposable income than I ever had. I understand what you are saying if you have health issues, live in pain or are finacialy strapped. I wish you the very best and to all who have health isseues , god bless you all !

At 74, after my morning work out, I can hit my projects pretty hard. However, I find that after three hours in the AM and three in the PM I have pretty much all the joint pain that I want. I still work three jobs. It is time to get out of the Fire Department, but being the only truck driver I just can't seem to walk away from it.

getting old is like climbing down a steep cliff blindfolded; you never know if what you are feeling around for is actually what it feels like it is.

I hear you. I will be 81 in in a week. I still get around fairly good, just a lot slower. My Dad had Alsheimer's around my age. maybe that's waiting for me around the corner. Not going to lose much sleep about it. Stan
