Value of a New Idea loader

Folks,

I might have the opportunity to buy a used New Idea loader (for a tractor). The guy claims he has a brand new one never been on a tractor. In the event he doesn't want to put a price on each of them, what do you think the value of the new New Idea loader would be and the other in useable condition, what would the value be? Thanks in advance. I know nothing of any numbers or such.

Depends on the model of the loader, age and condition, what buckets and features it has (snow bucket, tines, auxiliary hydraulic valves, grapple, etc.) and what tractors mount are with it. A picture could help.

The biggest thing to me would be whether or not it has
the mounts to fit your tractor . The last time I priced a
brand new loader it was 11,000.00$ that was with
several buckets and a bale fork either way loaders are
not cheap

Based on the information you have provided, it could be $25.00 to $2500.00, for either one, or maybe both together. New Idea made quite a few loaders to fit different tractors for a number of years. The model, mount kits, pumps with drives, buckets included, etc. all affect the price; none of that is given here.

The good guess that could be assessed here needs more info. Some made for a compact tractor would be far less than those for an IH 1486 or JD 6400. Help us help you with details. The answer could be $250 or 2500. Jim

From my old memory. The numbers I remember are 504, 506 ? New Idea didn't make a lot of loaders. One was a very simple, light duty
one size fits all (as long as the tractor has side frames) trip bucket loader. It could have single or dual acting lift cylinders.
The other I believe had more robust mounting, going to the rear tractor axle. It was all hydraulic.

Need info info. What kind of tractor 100h p. Or a 25 h p
garden tractor ? I would say a loader for 100 h p tractor
would be over 10k how is he going to sell a loader without
a price? Appears like youre talking 2 loaders, one new
one used. And the way things are selling nowadays used
stuff darn near sells for new price. Hard to say till a per
gets more info.

Gave you what I know. I have a New Idea Loader on my Oliver 1650. Had a hose on the cylinder blow and could not get the hose off of the cylinder because it was rounded and the position wouldn't let me get a pipe wrench on it. Did a bunch of things, finally cut the connection off of the cylinder thinking I could fabricate something or if I ruined the cylinder I didn't lose anything. Went into the NAPA store to see about a fitting for it and the "floater" counter guy said he knew a guy that probably had a cylinder like that. I then asked if it would be for sale. He said if he could find it, he would bring it tomorrow and sell it for a $100.00. Told him to bring it. He then mentioned he had two used New Ideal loaders, one being on a tractor at the moment and actually a third one that was new, never used, never mounted on a tractor. That is all the information I have as he got busy with another customer and I was picking up my stuff. He knows mine is a dual cylinder bucket loader. May know more tomorrow, just looking for ideas if he asks me to put a dollar figure on their value.

So basically a loader for a 1650 tractor. ? Plus the
condition of the used one comes into play.

I have 504 NI loaders on JD 3010 and 4010. One came off a 656 and the other off a Massey 175. I had to
modify the mounts for both somewhat, but not majorly. The dump cylinders have been replaced with common
hydraulic cylinders on both. Lift cylinders are a different story, harder to find substitutes.

Most used NI I have seen sell are in the $500-750 range if all there. A new one might be $1800-3000 if it
has usable mounts (cheap compared to current models), but I suspect a New Idea might have limited appeal
in the general market. OTOH, you already have experience with one. Your call. If it was me, I really
would be all over a new one if offered.

506 is single acting lift cylinders and trip dump. 504 is double acting lift and hydraulic dump. Also 504 has 3 position lift cyl adjustment and will go quite high, or extra low if wanted to go that way.

i had 1 like that on my 1650 oliver ,then my 4010 john deere. other than the odd bucket cylinders they were a darn good loader.
come to think about it i got a full set of piston seal kits for all 4 cylinders

(quoted from post at 16:20:32 03/28/23) 11,000.00$

Muir Hill, just curious, where are you from?

I'm seeing this more and more lately, people putting the dollar sign AFTER the amount. Some countries outside the USA do it, but these are supposed bonafide Americans doing it.

Unless something has changed, and I missed it, we put the dollar sign BEFORE the amount in the USA.

The AGCO Partsbooks list 6 models 500 thru 506 with all the parts and mounting brackets for different tractors. It appears that most were matched to smaller tractors like Allis WD & WD45 and John Deere A,B
but the brackets were available for larger HP tractors (No idea if parts are available anymore). I have a Model 503 which is sized for 40-45 HP Allis-Chalmers WD and we had it on Minneapolis Moline 60 + Hp
tractor and it works but kind of close to everything. Not sure when it happened but about everything on this loader has been broke and reinforced as much as possible. My opinion is they are light duty and
good for manure or pushing snow but not heavy use. A brand new loader would be nice if it matches the tractor??Tag is on the front cross beam Cleddy
