1949 John Deere B Restored

Here is the restoration I completed on my grandfather's 49 B. He originally bought the tractor to participate in parades with us when we were little (20years ago) but was diagnosed with cancer shortly after.
They removed the cancerous lung and the doctors advised him to stay away from the work involved with fixing & painting tractors. I started working on it in my free time between other tractors over the last
few years until recently when he had another health scare. He always said he wanted to see it finished one day so I put in long days and late nights to complete it.

See if you can find a little more green paint and paint the starter and Genny like they were when new. Other than that you got it extremely straight. So many paint jobs are shiny but bumpy.

Wat are you talking about? Paint the starter? The starter is
totaly enclosed in the bottom of that tractor and unless you
dissamble tractor you cannot see starter. That spot was never
painted. I had a 49 B for over 30 years.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! The ability to do the job, the desire to do the job and actually completing the job. Outstanding!!! The long nights and lost sleep will soon be forgotten, but that tractor will stay as a testament. Be proud.

The correct police would not be taking a wrench and
dismantling the tractor to check for paint inside of the
engine.
