This is a double side shaft Crossley. I don't really know to much about this engine.

Made in Manchester, England. They were up there with Ruston and Hornsby for building
those style of engines. We had a very large diesel Ruston driving the DC generator in
the company where I served my apprenticeship, started it with air from a storage
cylinder every morning. If the air leaked out it was all hands to the cranks, two
strong men on each of the two handles, No need to go to the gym in those days. :0) The
two flywheels were around six feet across.

As stated Crossley had very early licensure of the Otto-Langen design and went on to build some very nice engines of their own design.
The Rustons found their way into many a grain elevator across Canada. Very stout reliable engines.
