Hello, Where is the best place for the filter on a loader with a PTO pump ?? In the return line between the valve and reservoir or between reservoir and pump on suction line. I have heard on the suction line may not work as good ? Thanks Bryan

In the return side. If anything is on the suction side, usually just a screen.

everyone I have is on the suction side between the tank and the control valve you put them on the return line they can build pressure and blow the canister apart

Typically it is in the return line.

But on a loader application, suddenly dropping the lift with a load will cause a massive rush of oil, much greater than the pump volume.

Therefore, the filter needs to be oversized to compensate for that situation.

But the filter in the return line, a suction strainer ahead of the pump, is the industry standard.
