My 18 year old 20hp Kohler command
cvphoto121784.jpg

Is running like new.
I put 8 oz ATF in motor oil and recommend amount of sea foam and ATF in gas.
I newly like Kohler command has a sticky hydraulic lifter. I used the terramite to remove SNOW grader blade and install woods rear mower.

I forgot my blade balancer is in my south pole barn.

Have something to do tomorrow, install new blades.

Thanks Old, Old book of Wisdom!

George, be real easy to make a kickstand for the blade so you would not need a extra tractor to hook up. A 3/8ths pipe coupling and a piece of 1/2inch rod. An L-shaped bolt for a set screw on the coupling, just loose the screw let the rod drop to the ground and the blade will stay right there til you need it again.

It came with a stand. I didn't like it so I removed it.
This is the easiest way for me to put the blade on and take it off. I can't see very well with the cab while backing up. Beside turning around hurts my neck.
Each to their own.. Do what works for you..

Geo: Does your Kohler command smoke when you first start it? My 2005 27 HP Kohler command riding mower does, it has 900 Hrs on engine.

NO smoke anytime.
I have to turn the key on for 20 seconds.
Crank it over 3 times before I pull on the choke.
Fires right up.
18 years old and over 2000 hrs on the engine. It doesn't use oil until It gets to 50 hrs. Then will change the oil and filter.

Change oil in mine every 50 too, mow 50 hrs per year with it, guess I should let it idle longer before I shut in down. It's never low on oil though. Thanks

I have one car that I want to add some ATF to its gas. How much would be needed per 5 gallons of gas? I have used a quart per 5 gallons in tractors before. I'd think the same ratio would work. The car has a carburetor, my mom's last car, a Honda Accord. I will add some seafoam too. Thanks for your help.

Ahhh hummm a Honda uses a KEIHIN carb its a unique carb that has an auxiliary fuel pump/pumps diaphragm some Toyota used them also are styled after a Keihin. Aisan carbs were addicted to those some had 3 diaphragms a mikuni carburetor comes to mind also. I may have a nightmare after thinking about them and lets make it a real nightmare and not leave out the first Chrysler's that has Mitsubishi carbonated engines... If they make a comeback I have the obtainable choke diaphragms for'em : )...

The issue is the diaphragms get hard I am not sure ATF would be kind to them. Even a bigger issue the diaphragms in a new kit are old and hard, if I fall off the wagon I never price a build on one as they will eat you alive. If you have to go into it I have some good info/tips on repairing Honda Keihin carbs. The mile of vacuum lines on them are crucial to the carbs operation.

They are not a friendly carb to tinker on...
