JD 3020 Hyd oil cooler leak

The oil cooler on my 3020 Diesel is leaking. Removed and found the short pipe in the bottom tank that connects to the main pump is loose.What kind of metal is the tank and pipe so that it can be repaired..
Braze solder JB weld or????? Any one else fixed this. Also posted in JD section..

The tank of the cooler is either steel or aluminum depending upon serial number, transmission type and if it's ever been replaced. A magnet will answer that question. I suggest having it professionally brazed if steel or tig welded if aluminium. With the pressure surges the and vibration it's exposed to all epoxy will do is make a mess when it fails and someone then tries to weld or braze it.

Should add it is a 1967 model with syncro transmission with original cooler.
