I recently purchased a JD420 (diesel) and need help understanding what type of plow I can pull - 4x16 and/or 4x18? Specifically, I'm looking at an International Model 720 with 4 - 18 inch moldboards. Do you think my tractor will pull this plow? THANK YOU! Mark

Pulled 5x16 for years with mine . Then went to 3x14 rollover
then to 3x16 rollover could easily pull a 4x16 rollover the two
way plows are easier to haul and less dead furrows in
irregular shaped fields

Sorry for the confusion. It's a 4240.

Depends where you are.
Pa had a 4240 and pulled 4,18s but he had
16 inch bottoms on it. This is so. central
Minnesota and our ground is heavy black
gumbo. It was a load but he added a
million pounds weight and it did okay.

I would think a 4240 would pull 6 16's it's over or about 100 hp. We can pull 6 16's with an 806,856 1466. and others. these are trailer plows too.
