Made it home

Got home about 7:00 this evening, just over 1600 miles total over three days with one stop on the way out for a pickup and most of yesterday at Tom's place to unload and load and tell some stories.

Did have one issue on the way home, truck started to miss. Stopped at Oriely's and they read the codes and found a miss on number 4 cylinder. Thought it would be the coil, so I bought one of those first, turned out to be the plug. The end was burned off.

Guess 16 years and 156,000 miles is just too much for original spark plugs. Guess I'll be replacing the other 9 now. Lol. It was a heavy load, grossed 33,000 on the way out and 31,000 on the way back. So the V10 got a real work out. Didn't keep track of the mileage but I'm sure it was around 6. Was expensive, but got a real nice combine that should last me the rest of my time farming and also got a real nice silage blower that I will have to find a use for.
Here are a few Mor pics of loading at Tom's.

I don't put many miles on it and only do a few trips like this. I just can't justify the extra expense. I've put just at 50,000 miles on this one in 8 years that I've had it. Most of my drives are a few miles to town or less than a mile to the land I farm. For this trip it sure would have been nice as the gas really struggled.

Well, that sure is a lot of weight, dont think I want to do that with my 7.3 diesel, lol, glad you made out ok, some nice looking equipment you got there,

It is seriously heavy! Lol. I never weighed it but based on the
loads that I can estimate it must be 12k empty. Will be careful
about using it again.

That's a fairly decent chunk of the sleeve and ground electrode that broke off, I assume it passed through the exhaust safely. Anyway, glad the plug didn't break and I hope the other 9 come out in one piece too.

Good thing you didn't have to go through Virginia, you would still be locked up. They have declared war on pick-ups and one tons in my area. They had 4 pulled over on a two mile stretch of road last week. Friend of mine got a ticket for 7 violations hauling a load of scrap. Glad you had a safe trip.

Always good to get home Was walking past a overhead door at work last evening and seen you go by , and I said at least hes real close to home Nice load and REAL nice trailer. Someday

Be sure to properly torque those new plugs when you put them in. My 2002 F250 V-10 spit one out because i failed to do that.
