second hay cut

Cut it on Friday afternoon and baled it on Sunday afternoon. Alfalfa grass mix. Due to extreme heat weather this past few weeks and continuing, the growth was stunted so only got 150 bales off of the 7 acres total in three fields. Oh well, that's why it is a hobby farm.

Some good or excellent hay is better than more rained on or weedy hay anytime. Less work too. Just
adjust the feeding accordingly. Our yields are down too but the quality is good. Too much rain normally
causes rank hay or even complete loss.
