Hey Grandpa. That looks to be about the size of the Dig-It unit you saw in my yard the day y'all were here.
The Dig-it was originally built by Power King and most parts will interchange. If it is that is a very nice size compact TLB unit. I don't use mine much anymore but it is awfully nice when I do though.

It might be a terramite clone.
Parts is the only issue.
Terramite only has a few special parts. Hoses and hydraulic cylinders I can buy locally.
Terramites use Kohler command engines, lawnmower engine.
Torque motor and hydraulic pump are special.

If it's cheap you might fall in love with it. Especially the older you get.

My BOSS uses it. I bet your Boss will like it too.

Hey grandpa, how was your weather? Got almost 2 1/2 inches here. Enough wind to blow my sweet corn over some. It should stand back up.

I would bet money that nothing on it was made by LayMor.
Other than the welded structures.

Same for Terramite, those two companies were never big enough to manufacture any function components themselves.
They may have altered some components the sourced with unique bolt patterns but not much more.

GPL..... Nice pics but you'd have to function test it and check it for leaks..... If any. Check idle, coolant temp, oil pressure, battery charge. Etc. I don't have to tell you of all mechanics because you have forgotten more about these things than I know. Lol. Just to bad of the long road trip. But if the price is right then ok. Plus no telling what treasures you or GML find on the road trip. Be safe ok. Wingnut

I think it important to check for worn parts that need greased on a regular bases.
Good luck finding any backhoe that doesn't drip oil someplace. Hoses and cylinders are always needing attention. Rubber hoses and O rings don't last forever.

Good chance it's an air cooled horizontal shaft lawnmower engine.

An old terramite in good condition will sell for around $7.5k give or take.

Tires are important.
I say, diversify and branch out to compact backhoes. They are handier than a pop top can and sliced bread.
