5050 lift problems

Basically, my lift system doesn't lift. The only thing I am sure about is the filter isn't dirty. I do NOT know if the pump or control valve is the problem. So question one is how can I eliminate one or the other ? Question 2 is the control valve. The 5050 parts parts catalog, page 264 shows an exploded view of the control assembly. Item 21 is described as p/n 2089866-4 --> body. The diagram shows item 21 pointing to the body and 2 other items. Anyone have any idea of what the part numbers for the non-body parts are ??

Lowline, welcome to YT! Luckily you can stand right next to it and look a the brand name of the tractor. Unfortunately, nobody on this end of the internet has that option. A quick search shows it could be an Allis/Fiat, John Deere or New Holland, which of these I would guess it is the Allis. I could not get anything to come up using that part number and Agco in a search. Information please!!

I used to have a dozer that used a nylon check ball in the high pressure relief valve. If there was a shock to the hydraulic system the ball would lodge in the seat causing a bypass situation, so no hydraulics.

Posting the Manufacturer would help, but I am guessing Allis Chalmers 5050. The part number you have must be in a hard copy book as the on line catalog has the new number, 72089866, for the body on page 272. The two parts included with the body would appear to be metal to metal spools fitted in the body bores and were not sold separately, thus they chose to omit the names I would guess. I am not familiar with those so can't give you the names, but your service manual should have the actual names.

You are correct, it is an Allis Chalmers Fiat tractor, and I am using the hard copy printed parts manual (p/n 79006535 for the manual), and part number 2089866-4 for the control valve body. I have been unsuccessful in trying to get to the online catalog ( any help on how to get to the online catalog would be appreciated). Any idea if I could get items 13, 17, 40 shown in the diagram ?

You guessed correctly, it is an Allis/Fiat 5050 tractor, built n 1978 : s/n 583277. As I mentioned above, I have been unsuccessful trying to get to the online parts catalog, so I'm using the more old fashion printed on paper version.

As far as the availability of the parts you are looking for you should check with a dealer. Sandy Lake Implement is one many recommend. You can also sign up to shop and purchase on line through the link. I think you can do that by clicking the Search and Shop Now button in that first picture and signing up with the nearest ecommerce dealer in their locator. From what I see only 17 shows with a price ($278.), the others say to check with your dealer.

I have not have not worked on a 5050 so can help you much on that front. Do you have a shop/service manual for it? That should have some info.

You might try posting on the Allis Chalmers Forum on this site, someone with some hands on knowledge of your model might see it quicker there. You could fill in some blanks as well in that post. Post the manufacturer and model. How long have you had the tractor? Was it work and just quit? Or did you purchase it not working? What exactly have you done to it so far? Where is the pump driven from? Does it have a coupling that could shear, check that.
