been pouring the coal to it last few days . got finished right before it started to rain today. busy weekend. vibrashanked 80 acres, then harrowed it with 560 then seeded it all in just over 3 days ... wow , i know what took so long... but i used the 660 and 560. seeded the 80 acres in 15 hrs. and less than a tank of fuel for seeding, i dipped the tank and still had 6 inches of diesel left. that's pretty good diesel sipping .my simple drill fill works good too, 3 minutes and back to it and at it.

Yes I will harrow it but I am going to spread dry fertilizer first. Now going to be rainy weather for the rest of the week it seams. I was getting worried the rain would beat me but I won so not going to complain although it would have been nice to have the dry stuff on too.

the truck is 1965 with 48,000 miles. everything works good. has the 350 engine instead of the 327. in 1967 was a body style change , then again in 1973 another change . i like this style , i think it is more classy looking.

Nice.

How does the drill fill work? How do you get it full to each side, without overloading the center?

Paul

If the fertilizer was spread ahead of the drill and you had a spike tooth behind the drill it would save a trip and both covered at the same time. We used to pull a spike tooth behind the old oOliver superior drill. We still use a chain drag on the great plains drill with press wheels.
