Rear wheels will not turn. Locked up. Was hauling bale of hay uphill on front spike when rear wheels seized.
Is there any way of unlocking them through the rear end housing?
Had tractor split and tranny inspected. Spindles pretty worn as well as clutch and pressure plate. Was told it needed rebuilt or replaced. Would and 8 or 6 speed manual transmission out of similar tractor bolt up in the place of SOS? This is my first tractor. Very green. Any advice would be much appreciated. I only need it for 25-30 per year so I could get by with worn tranny for awhile as transmission was working fine before wheels stopped turning. Hoping there is a cheaper/simpler fix as I have put a lot of money in it rebuilding engine and hydraulic systems.
Thanks
