I putting power steering on tractor with cylinder to steer. The tractor steers left and right with ease but turns hard at first. Any idea what is wrong

Sounds like a steering valve reacting too slow. Been years since I worked on one.

It there a center adjustment? If not, it's just a nuisance. I new valve may not be much better,

Leak in the lines somewhere causing the system to bleed down, and you're fighting air at first until it gets bled out, maybe?
