You have better eyes than I do !!! I didn't see it until you posted about the loose nut and then I looked closer and was able to see it. It's hell to get old!!!

Super 99 don’t feel bad the young bucks at work bust on me about being blind. I had Lazer surgery in Oct last year and wouldn’t you know I got an eye infection. Kind of back to where I started with my eye. Will have to have it re Lazered most likely.

Good you found it, I would sure think you will be able to feel the difference when its tight again and the axle is not flexing,, was it just one side or both,,

My sight is going pretty fast can’t believe how much In just a year . I can hardly read cow tags in the dark at all now vision is pretty blurry lately

SV have you had your eyes checked lately? I have had Cataract’s most of my life. In the last few years it has worsened. My daughter had Cataract surgery at 15 and is happy with the results.

My wife had lens replacement and went back to 20 year old great vision. No hospital stay. a real medical technology miracle. Mine are still good. Jim

You better see the eye Doctor, if he has been takeing pictures of the back of eyes, they can see whats happening and help you!!

I wonder how many drivers actually do a pretrip. The pretrip when getting the CDL was almost as hard as the written test. But i think it is important.

I drive truck and have done pretrips but I do not see what the problem is here looked probably 15 times at that picture.

Thanks....I couldn't figure what was wrong either. So, what does that mean and is that something that you would be normally looking for, or was that an accidental observance, and how was it that he went looking for it..if in fact something changed and alerted him that a problem developed?

I have had broken springs before. I am always under my truck at work checking the springs and hangers as well as checking brakes and adjustment. Truck has held together well this year. Did put a new clutch in a month ago. Have all new tires this year as well.

That’s no good, probably need the old blue wrench and cheater pipe before it gets all better. As for Texas Marks question or comment, just by reading Sv.s post here I would like to think that he is a bit more thorough then most, so I would give him credit above it being a ..accidental observance.. But maybe the trailer had trouble with loose suspension in the recent past so he was looking closer, but that would just be speculation. I am attaching the Minnesota DOT trip pre-check list as a reference to what requires a look over. As for my eyes, I used to brag on my vision then at 48 or 49 I caught myself starting to squint to see things. Getting by with cheaters so far, my distance vision is fine. I have noticed lately that I prefer to get my cheaters to read YT on my phone, used to not need them.. 58 on the year meter now!

Always look at the springs hangers u bolts air lines brake cans slack adjusters pins and cotter pins that hold em together frame for cracks, cross members , Steering linkage , drive lines , tires , lug bolts / nuts . Lights . Brakes anything that can be broke cracked loose or missing pieces .

I always did a complete pretrip Nothing like someone losing their life because of something stupid, especially mine. One time I was working for a company and they put new tires on my truck. I grabbed the lug nuts and spun two off by hand. I took another truck. Head mechanic asked why I did that there were only a couple loose.

As long as it’s my life I don’t care but when it’s someone else’s life that’s the reason I check

Had the mechanic come to take care of it oh how I love to be the one to say that . I don’t think it would be too bad of a job definitely need the torch to get it apart .
