Winter project

Ellis, I use my 3pt boom pole because it's what I own, and it is handy for reaching into and around obstacles. I use my loader tractor, CIH 485, and it is handy because I can turn around sometimes push the log(s) where I need them or push other debris out of the way. But an arch might be safer and keep the weight close to the tractor so the front end does not get light, especially on our hills. Mark.

This came out of my shop about ten years ago. I’m only skidding with snow present to keep logs clean. Have had it on a wheel tractor that allowed higher lift.

Does anyone still use tongs? Before we got a cable skidder . Dad and grandpa skidded with a pair of FMDs two sets of tongs on a three point hitch drawbar. The logs were bucked in the woods. I have a set I use with a boom, my boom has tabs welded for chain hook in a couple of places along the bottom.
