The Board Walk Is Done

Except for paint after the wood dries. Need more clean up and some fill in places. Useable and safe for now. Put a safety gate at the steps on both sides so us old toddlers don't tumble off.

I wish I had your ambition Dick.
I looked around my shop the other day and saw a bunch of projects I need to do.
And have a bunch more to do outside.
Well, since the weather is cooler, I am feeling more like doing some work.

No need to rush into those finishing touches. I tend to bring a project to around 95% of completion and then pause and contemplate the rest for a few years to make sure that I finish it up exactly how I (and the wife) want it.
 
Both of us are somewhat disabled in walking. Dixie wants flowers in pot along the side and thought she would never feel like walking out to the end of the board walk and back to the building. See either has to use a walker or have something to put her hand on within reach like the side of the building. She is afraid of the electric wheelchairs. She thinks she could slip out onto the ground or floor and couldn't get up.
 
I will have to live to 130 the complete all my started projects and I keep starting more. :)^D
 
We tried to make it look as close as we could to the plastic railing on the building. We could have bought 72 inch panels to cut and put between the 48 inch posts. With what was already (invested) in it I thought throwing away 2 feet that many dollars would be a bit much.

Really... you're amazing. You accomplish more from a wheelchair, than most poeple can even begin to imagine!

Very nice, but what do you mean throw a way? Leftovers never seem to go anywhere but in a rack, or in a corner, till needed somewhere else. Maybe ten years later :)
