Hello Every body: John Deere 332 turn key on glow plugs fire up light goes OFF turn key to start postion NOTHING the small dash lights come ON. Removed relay K1 put meter on 12V+ and 12V- where the coil is turn key to start No voltage reading. When I turn key to start postion 11.8V appears at one side of relay contact the side that when contacts CLOSE transfers DC voltage to solonoid. I have confirmed negative to the relay but am getting no 12V+ to relay coil so the contacts will not close. Engine starts right up when 12V+ is applied to small solonoid terminal directly. I had this problem a year ago and I just put a new relay K1 in and the starter worked great with the key even through the winter and the first couple grass cuts I thought it was fixed but the problem has come BACK again when I turn the key to START no starter turn over no relay contacts are closing.

My F2000 Kubota was doing something similar about 5 years ago. When I turned the key to start I would just get a click most of the time, but would occasionally catch. New battery and solenoid/starter = no joy. jm from this site advised me to add a second solenoid. Energize with the wire to the original solenoid and run a wire from the battery to the big lugs on the solenoid and to where the original activation wire went. Been starting ever since without fail. He explained that all the safety switches were taking up too much voltage to activate the solenoid. I now have a spare starter and the battery is still working in a different tractor.
