2000 vs 2001 IH Loader

I posted earlier this week regarding installing a IH 2001 loader on a JD 4020. I received responses which suggested that the IH 2001 was not strong enough for that application. After checking the loader I have discovered that it is a 2000. I am not familiar with IH loaders. Is a 2000 a lighter duty loader than a 2001? Thanks in advance.

I am not positive of this,, but the 2001 had i think 1 cylinder on the tilt bucket.I had neighbor's that had a 2000 on a Hydro 656, and they refilled the Harvestor with silage out of the bunker, about in February, they used it hard, hitting the silage, but they didn't spin the wheels in the dirt floor bunker, for obvious reason's, just filled the bucket and backed out, but that was 60 HP, with 14.9 28 tires. I still say it's to small for a 4020. I dont mean to be rude.

Thanks. I know very little about IH loaders. I aquired this's loader a few years back at a consignment sale for $100 . I need a heavier loader then the Freeman on my MF 65. I feed large rounds with my 4020 using rear forks. I would really like a JD 148 like you suggested but can't find one in my price range. I appreciate your comments. I didn't think your comments were rude.

2001 was rated around 1800 lbs. 2000 rated around 2000+. I have seen them on 806. The heavier loader for sure , it should have two tilt cylinders. Great Bend 800 series is i believe the same. A 4020 if used in a reasonable manner should not tear it up. I have seen people pick cars completely up with them. The 2001 with the single cylinder I have and can easily pick up round bales . the down fall is that cylinder that is very hard to replace.

Have a Case 70 loader on my 1030 Case since 1979. Loaded thousands of square and round bales. Have yet to put a weld on the loader. The Case 70 loader is about the same as a 2000 or 8-900 Great Bend as it was built by Great Bend for Case. But of course some people can break an anvil with a rubber mallet.

2001 was originally designed with a trip dump bucket mounted between the lift arms ( about 40 inches wide) . Later a single cylinder design was available. 2000 always had two dump cylinders with a bucket mounted on the forward end of the lift arms. Buckets could be 60, 72, 84 inches wide. Both loaders could have been equipped with either single or double acting lift cylinders. Single acting cylinders on either loader had the same lift weight rating 1,300 lb Double acting lift rating 2,000 lbs.

If you can figure out how to mount a IH 2000 on a 4020 Deere, the 4020 will not be too much tractor for the loader unless you try to use it like a battering ram or a bulldozer.
