The kings 400 needed to be split again because when I put the motor in it last year the throw out bearing carrier was bad but I couldn't find a replacement then so I put it together anyway. Well I found one in a tractor a neighbor was scrapping so this weekend I split it and replaced the bad parts. Had some help from my grandson Jordan too.
Not only was the carrier bad, but the input bering holder had worn and that tube you see in the replacement wouldn't stay in, so that got changed too.
I also got a power steering unit for it as well. This tractor steered ok without, but I like the narrow front on this one but didn't like that the steering wheel would get away from me when I hit a bump or hole. Got hurt last year when it spun and hurt my arm. So with power steering that will prevent that. Here is the old manual steering next to the power unit.

Ran into a couple of issues with the swap because this is a newer, larger 301 engine so the pump mount didn't quite fit. You can swap newer models to older engines because the holes are oblong, but from older to newer you need to do that. Plus the pulley are bigger on this engine so the belt had to be replaced. Here it's nearly back together.

The DC to the rescue for the lifting again.
All done and working.
I did manage to pinch the oil pressure line and the thermostat is sticking, so still have a couple things to fix up, but I'm thinking I finally have this money pit about fixed. The more it costs me the more I get attached to it. Lol. Hope to use it for a bunch of work this year, planting and hay cutting for sure.
