Hi all,
I was up at the farm tonight, and after thinking about all of the responses, I thought I'd check a couple of things. I started the cb-50s up, and put it in gear, and got it to move a little bit on the trailer by revving it up. So I unchained, and put it in forward direction, 1st gear and revved her up...She kind of shook but then started rolling forward. I drove her off the trailer and up the hill. Ran the lift through it's paces, also tried the shifting of gears. 4th was a no go when I revved up the engine. I.E. I couldn't rev it high enough to get it to move, 3rd too. 1st and 2nd when I revved it up, would go for me. I didn't notice any nasty hot smells like burnt up clutch. So guessing that this thing may have some sort of torque adapter along with a clutch setup. Drives me crazy I can't find any specific documentation to it, and just kind of flying by the seat of my pants. Is it possible this has both, manual clutch and torque convert? And if so, guessing maybe I need to add some fluid to it for the rest of the gears to have any effect, and maybe a little lower rpm engagement?
I didn't check the brakes or clutch cylinders yet. Will pull the cover next time I'm up.
