More building moves

Another one of Minty's moves. Loading it onto a barge and taking it to an island by Vancouver Island

This was a tiny move compared to those

In 2010 we moved our cabin about two blocks to a better lot. They charged me $2500 to pick it up, move it, and set it on the new slab. Which took two guys about 3 days' work spread over a week, with actual transport time only about 20 minutes.

You have to pay people for what skills they have, what equipment they have, their knowledge of how to use it, & all expenses associated with necessary ownership (or rental) of said equipment. This is generally much more expensive that many people think.

That house to the island will cost a penny or two. I would think they could build a new house on site for the cost to move one. The barge and all that would be big dollars I would think.

What's the story here Rick? Where was the house moved from, and where is it going to. I live on Vancouver Island...something about this seems familiar.
