I need to replace the clutch on my 66. I have the original manual from dealership that explains the job.
Are there any tricks or special tools I will need to complete the job?

Lonni does it have a belt pulley? On my 77 with belt pulley we pulled the engine and spun it around and set it back on the tractor frame. Remember to pull the long PTO drive shaft out the back of tractor first. It?s still working and we didn?t have any special tools. I think the pros will tell you to get the flywheel resurfaced.

Are you going to pull engine up and turn sideways across tub to change or attempt to do in tub? In my honest opinion best choice is pull engine, you are probably due for a coolant change anyways. Either way don't forget to pull PTO shaft first. Figure on the possibility of needing flywheel refaced. New throw out bearing on hand? Any oil leaking out rear main seal? You may want to do while out? Bout all I can think of at the moment.

should have a clutch pilot shaft for aligning the disc to flywheel when bolting down pressure plate. sure saves screwing around.

On an Oliver 66 there is plenty of room to pull the clutch without pulling the engine. Use the clutch input shaft to align the new clutch.

I 2nd that. Make sure you have the right parts. Look into updating the rear mainseal if it hasn't been done. Check your shafts , pto hub and couplers for wear.

You do not need to remove the engine or the belt pulley on a 66! As far as the right parts, well there are 2 different throwout bearings, two different pilot bearings and two different size clutches! better pull it apart and see what you need first!. Questions, send me an e-mail but pull the long PTO shaft first! J.
