790 John Deere hydraulics

My daughter has a 790 jd. Grandson said the 3 point hitch I a not working right. He said it would lift but not go back down like it should. I'm thinking
maybe a clogged filter but have not looked at it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Tommy

There is a rate of drop adjustment valve in front of the seat. Round knob about two inches in diameter. Screw knob out to allow hitch to drop

3pt hitches are float down and power lift. If there is nothing on the lift arms it would appear to be slow going down (especially in cold weather. If there is an attachment on the hitch maybe the control levr is getting bound on something. Jim

I don't think he would have have fooled with the rate control but he may have. I will check when I see him. He is 14 now and he will try anything. I told him if the engine quit running, try to find out why. Don't take the back tire off first. If my daughter don't have a manual I will e mail you.thanks
