Farm Truck Value?

I'm trying to sell a farm truck for an old cousin in nursing home, Southwest Missouri. 1972 Chevrolet, 3/4 ton, 2 WD, 350 V8, excellent condition, gets up and runs down the road powerfully, automatic, new tires, new rims, green / white, A/C needs work on the compressor, spare tire, bed liner, steering is tight, bottom of tailgate is rusty. Body is in very good condition. Could you recommend a value? Thanks guys / gals.

I'll see if I can figure the pictures out. Truck will be located in Mt. Vernon / Monett area.

If that truck is as clean and solid as you say it's hard to put a price on it.

To Bow Tie people it's worth more than you think.
Still the average Joe is going to be interested at a lesser value.

If it were mine I would want all I could get starting at $4 to 5 K
and come down as needed.
I would not give it away, although in your/her situation that
Could be a problem because she probably wants it gone.

Do a web search on that year and model and be surprised at
What Comes up

I'm at Ozark, Mo. Those trucks hold there value, being 3/4 ton might hurt it a little. Would like to see some pictures. Email is open

A local auctioneer has one like it he puts in his auctions 1970,71 are 72, 350 2X4 3/4 4sd in the floor granny gear type long bed looks like a nice truck all I see wrong with it is the right front door has a large dent the door opens and closes OK it needs a door. Its a runner a little better than average condition The most I have see it fetch is in the low 4K range its always a no sale...

A nice 3/4 with options I could see in the 7 to 10K range sounds like yours could be in the 5 to 7 range tops...

Dream prices there on NADA. Indiana tried to use that site to value my 1950 Willys truck for tax purposes. State told me NADA said it was worth $13,500. I told them I'd take it in $100 bills, and where do you want it delivered?

Those have some collector value, don't let it go too cheap.

The 72 was the last year for that body style. Being a 3/4 ton will hurt some, but still it's got some value.

Post it for sale on bring a trailer website if if in good shape, lots of collectors on there.

I pass through monett lots hauling corn to the chicn feed mills,mt vernon is 25 miles from my house about same as monett.
Might have a friend that be interested ,if he is i will let you know

I also had a 71 3/4 ton 4x4 with 4speed. Great truck, wish I kept it. I agree with around 5K.

Don't call it a farm truck, that will turn most buyers away without ever looking at it as most will think of a rusted out truck driven hard for very short trips with questionable owner preformed maintenance. That may not be true for your truck, but that is the market's perception. Emphasize the condition and if it has low mileage.

Cleaning and professional detailing ($150) are usually a good investment, unless it uncovers hidden rust problems. Replace any burnt out light bulbs and only do the cheap easy fixes.
