Pioneer equipment

I have seen John Deere dealers selling Pioneer equipment. Does John Deere make these products or another company? just curious

Pioneer is their own company to my best knowledge and buys components. Plow bottoms come from Kverneland for example. Used to be area companies that bought components from Deere dealers that got corporate scratching there heads. A builder of tomato harvesters bought many knife bars that fit the number 5 mowers and one day some boys from corporate visited the dealer to see what was up. Area edible bean combine builder bought a fair amount of stuff that fit 6600 and 6620 combines.

Not sure where you are located but in Texas they carry Frontier equipment, which info says Frontier works with a alliance to have products made to John Deere standards.

Frontier is basically an outsourcing company for Deere for products Deere does not want to build in its own factories to save on cost. The JD 450 drill was basically moved over in the Frontier system and reborn as the BD series drill for example. Too bad they did not dust off the 716A forage box in that respect. Other products such as grinder-mixers come in from other builders and have the Frontier name plate put on them.

Ok, I was relying on my memory again, You are correct, I meant to say Frontier, not Pioneer. Thanks for the replies.
