Kids 20-40 lbs---$2.58-$3.10
Kids 40-60 lbs---$2.27-$3.47
Kids 60-80 lbs---$2.57-$3.15

Lower end are usually dairy type breeds higher end is for meat type breeds.

Goats are everywhere around here now. Boers are the most popular and pricy. Have seen them go through the cattle auction. I raised Nubians when I first bought this farm as I couldn't afford cows and the human population wasn't the makeup it is today and they weren't popular.....I ate them!

Sounds like cattle the dairy breeds bring less at auction than beef

My granddaughters sold several (mixed ages) at the spring small animal sale this year. They averaged $105. Don't know what the per lb. prices were.

say your upper weight and price on each
$124, $208.20, $252. how many days on each and what was your total inputs on that?

Why such a wide price range on your 40-60lbs kids?

I really would like to understand that more, because it is an interesting topic

I didn't sell any this time its a market report but its where I take my goats.Wide range on prices because there is a wide range on the goats.Breed,type,condition all enter into the mix.
The out of pocket inputs I have are basically a good mineral and give the does protein blocks in the Winter.I feed no grain as I have a lot of areas with 'goat' type forage.
I usually have my does kid in early April by December when I sell mine usually the buck kids will be around 80lbs for the most part some are smaller type goat with mytonic blood and they will be smaller but
usually bring very good per pound because they muscle well.To get near the top price the kid needs to be in good condition but not real fat as the fat on goats is thrown away they have fat much like a deer.

Prices are comparable to this area. There is a local place that butchers them for the camel jockeys, a "holy" man blesses them before they are killed. I make more selling mine to people who want pets and the does for breeding stock. This year I had a 180% birth rate.
