$$$ Millions in old iron $$$

I just watched Aumann's sell $1,879,500 worth of old iron in less than a half hour. That's just the first 6 tractors of many to go. A 1910 Marshall Colonial supposedly broke a record bringing 535,500. Buyer's premiums alone were $25,000+. I have no comments one way or the other, just thought the old iron community would be interested.

Here's a little video of maybe the same one that was sold, or at least one like it. I don't imagine that there are a lot of them kicking around. Unlike the Essex Tri-Directionals that seem to be found in almost every abandoned farm site you come across in your travels. Interesting starting procedure, if I didn't know better I'd say that had electric start ..... ha, not really but it appears as if the operator winds it up and then maybe releases a starting spring mechanism. Maybe someone hear can comment on that first part of the video ....
Marshall Colonial Tractor video .... poke here

The amount of leavers he was working you?d think it?d almost be easier to hitch up a team of horses.

(quoted from post at 12:02:47 04/13/19) Does anyone know the starting procedure on this? In the video, he cranked something a few turns and then moved a lever and it started.

Looked to me like that first crank was getting harder and harder for him to turn like he was winding a spring.

Search ?marshall colonial?. There is as article on a restoration about a 35/70 in Manitoba. The engine is cranked to a position where a button is then pushed to set the spark to start the engine. Very similar to the process of the later Field Marshall tractor.
