Land Sale--

Just got home from a land sale at the fire station in town. Sold a 80 and a 40 across the road from each other from an estate. Good ground with good CSR--80--brought $7900--40 brought $8500--About the same as the ground across the fence from us that sold 2 years ago. We didn't bid but the free coffee and donuts provided by Farm Credit were GOOD--especially the maple one--sorry-no pics of the donut---Tee

I think raw land is a good investment when the market determines it's value.

that's cheap. around here its more like $10,000 an acre and have seen some dutchies (aamish) pay $25,000/acre for an 80 acre farm with house (so so) and buildings (20 year old dairy set up) included.

seen land near my inlaws they were "asking" $5300/acre for. pretty high for NE Ohio.. still very depressed area but aamish are moving in.

Recently had Two farms sell locally, one was an 80, sold for 8500 an acre, the other was 200 acres, sold for 8000 an acre. one was tiled, the other was not. apparently farm land is up. Around here large tracts don't make it to being listed, rumor mill gets out they are thinking of selling, it is gone. crazy.
