Managed to roll and pull my 1941 9N down to my shop. Non-running tractor due to engine that won't budge. Wanted to see what that is all about. Never rolled it faster than walking pace.
Noticed a rhythmic whirring from transmission or rear end, not sure which. I thought a transmission in neutral would be fairly quiet if all is as it should be. Best description of whirring noise would be one of the old and very bad sic-fi movies where the spaceship is landing and there's a noise that supposedly a spaceship would make. But more mechanical than electronic.
In any case, I know it could be just about anything, or nothing at all, but I wanted to check in with those of you who know about these things. Should I be hearing anything from the tranny?
