I have a wall with bent motorcycle and snowmobile parts hanging on it. I had a bent snowmobile frame up there but I gave it to a friend so that he could cut a good part out of it.

I have a baggie with a little flattened lock washer in it that got sucked into a JD 40 engine. I also have a head gasket off a Ford 800 that clearly shows a water hole that wasn't punched out and I didn't notice. That one cost me a radiator too.

I always keep broken bolts that were tough to get out. You spend an hour on one it's hard to throw the new friend away.

Oh yeah, I got a shelf of fails. A ruined chainsaw piston and cylinder where the old circlip was still in the crank case, a broken PTO shaft from my agco allis 6680 when I raised the three point while turning a corner with the discbine on, a charred alternator from when the wiring burned on that tractor, scored wd main bearings, bent chainsaw bars, several cow and sheep skulls. Good shop decor, and keeps me humble.

yep write everything I do good or bad in a log book to look back on when I have to do it again in the future..(refresher course so to speak)

Skidloader 1840 case has wheel hubs that have o-rings to seal agains steel plates.. three are same size one is smaller.. guessing years ago before I bought it they replaced one with one from other machine.. for some reason diff size..

I built a rake years ago out of two a j.d. and a international I believe.. but two rows of internationl rake teeth on two bars the other two bars were J.d. in order for it to work i had to pull the sprocket on the international rows and rotate so they would be right when in position to rake.. no longer use it now as I updated..teeth had different angles when mounted..

just a couple weird things

Never kept broken parts like that. I have enouth junk (parts) around without keeping the broken parts unless I thought I could later repair them and use therm again.

Don?t listen to them lol i really didn?t get along with my first wife ,we never should have gotten married. We both pretended to be somewhat different people than we really are at a young age to try and impress each other than after 10 years reality set in really hard. I was too stubborn to give up but she left me for someone else because she couldn?t stand the indifferences anymore. That being said I love my wife now more than i could have ever imagined possible. Mrs SVcummins is out there somewhere, just need to remain patient.

mss3020 That?s a good idea keeping a journal kind of like your own little service manual with some added information to make things go a little easier next time

Leroy I?ve been carrying these part around for 15 years just to serve as a reminder to slow down and pay attention to details

jocco These tow parts have significant meaning to me because they both represent the importance of paying attention and never ever forcing something together

Morgan That?s An interesting collection of mistakes for sure . There?s no way I could store all the things I?ve ever done wrong it would fill up a football stadium I bet
