Picked up a winter job

To help support the crawler project and maybe buy a cab for the 3020 . Been working on some potato equipment and have a bunch of potato trucks to service and do brakes on through the winter until the ground thaws and drys up in the spring . One of my favorite projects for the winter is to do an engine overhaul on a 531 John Deere in a 5020 it?s now a hay raking tractor but back in the day I used to pull a 7 shank big ox ripper with it up and over hills that would make the yt hillside farming department cry like a little girl .

The WT hiiside farming department cries about driving down a crowned public road between fields, LOL.

What company made the stacker? There?s a shop about 5 miles from here that?s built a lot of them too. The ones built up the road from here are HF Stewart.

This guy used this 5020 for the main tillage tractor
for quite a few years then he bought a Steiger bear
cat it was a fun tractor but you could put an illegal
immigrant on the back of the tractor riding a
peddling bike hooked to a power steering pump of
an 80s half ton Chevy and have more hydraulics.

No they don?t have any idea . Just got done drilling a field that was so steep I had to farm on the contour becuse the tractor couldn?t pull the drill up the hill

I always laugh when I see their posts . I?ll admit I
use to be scared of the hills but after being on them
they aren?t so bad if your carefull . The Same hill I
farmed with the 5020 the guy who farmed if before
was farming it with a 2+2 and lost the hydraulics
and rolled the tractor clear To the bottom

I have to laugh at the landscape shows on tv. They want black soil for the lawn. Farmers in the hills do quite well growing corn in the yellow dirt by adding the correct fertilizer and nutrients.

Are you confusing black dirt for top soil and yellow top soil for subsoil (fill dirt)? Unlike tilled fields, its hard to incorporate more organic matter, P&K into a lawn without tearing up the old sod. For the price difference between fill dirt and top soil, top soil is a much better product for home owners wanting to creating a new lawn.
