OT: Queen of Rockabilly

She still is performing.She came out with a new album a year or so back.Many years ago one of her oldest friends said,the face of an angel and the voice of an old black bluesman.Wanda dated Elvis in her/his younger days.She's one of those artists that most people seem to know her music,but not always the name.
 
Dean...the wife Bought a great big bunch of old records.She didnt really want them,,lol,,but threw a bid on line and got them.There are a few Lawrence Welch in the huge collection of records.I told her your a big fan.She said if you want them she would like to give them to you,so they end up in a good home.Email us if you want them,,we will send them your way!

A couple of years ago I gave my stereo system to my nephew and no longer have any way to play vinyl records. FWIW, it was a killer system from the late 1970s/mid 1980s, including a Pioneer SX-1980 receiver (270 watts RMS into 4 ohms with both channels driven). It could give one heart massage.

Hopefully, you can find someone who will appreciate them.

She also had Big Al Downing in her band. You may remember him having some county hits in the 80s. It wasn?t normal to have a black guy in a country band back then and really not normal to have him in the band of a white girl. I
 
I was working at a gas station in Alton Iowa the summer of 69. Two great things happened that summer. Man landed on the moon and Wanda Jackson and her band bought gas at my station. She was beautiful, even without her stage makeup.
