I am replacing the starter/generator belt the main drive belt has to come off. On my EZGO it rolls of EZ this one is not going to roll off.
Any ides on removing the drive belt.

I fudged with it off and on for a day the only way it would run is at wide open throttle. Checked carb it was clean, checked valves they were dead nutz's.. It had no to little compression cranking unless the throttle was at WOT it must have some kind of compression release had good spark The owner said he had just put a new spark plug in it I put another in it I am right sure it fixed the issue.

It has a Yamaha engine its probably a Yamaha golf cart.

With most of the engines like that i have found NGK Plus work wonders.
Even better get NGK or Denzo Iridium plugs more bucks but they work
just sooo good! You barely need to turn the key and they start. Magic.
Those plugs are half the retail cost on Ebay. I can give you one cross
over. If it is a champion BC12Y whatever plug like the one that goes
in a Honda ohv type engine. The NGK regular plug is BPR6ES for 8hp and
up. They take a BPR5ES for the smaller 5hp engine. The NGK iridium
plug number is BKR6EIX. Give a couple a try.

On club car carts there is a special bolt to remove the drive
pulley. I don't think you can remove pulley with the engine in
the cart. You should be able to roll the belt on under the
drive belt. You might have to loosen engine bolts and slide it
towards tranny to give you some more slack. Nathan

Pulled a NGK out of it and put a NGK back in it parts books list a BPR2ES. I will keep your suggestion in mine if I have more problems.

I had a Honda generator with a bad NGK I know it was at least 25/30 years old tho...

Single cylinder engines GRRRRRRRRRRR.... A bad plug will drive you up the wall from now on they all get a new plug installed by ME...

I tried to sign up to Buggies unlimited they do not accept Gmail address :((((

Yep the engine would have to come out to remove the pulley BTDT and made a special 2 piece bolt to remove the engine pulley for my EZGO when I rebuilt the engine... That was about 11 years ago it needs rings again...

Looks like I will try and slip the old start/gen belt under the drive belt...

Looks like a snowmobile belt setup. On my old Yamaha I think to take the belt off I grab each shive of the pully in the fore ground and turn opposite direction and that pully opens up giving the belt all kinds of room. Now I haven't done that in about 20 years cause it's too dam cold for an old guy to screw around on one of them things anymore.

Looks about like this, try spreading that closed pully. With all the goofy weather lately you might be needing one of these more than I do, I could put you in it reasonable.

Is there any bolt holes on the secondary clutch? On Polaris RZS,s you screw in a bolt and it holds the secondary open to change the belt.

I agree, drive belt needs to come off.

I have a go cart for grandkids. I can slip the drive belt off with little effort.

While I had the drive off I would replace it too.

I'm not looking forward to replacing the drive belt on my Kawasaki 4010 mule. It has 650 hours on it.

Loop the new belt over the right hand end of the drive hub. Slide one side of it into the center where the main drive passes over
the center of the pulley and is loose. turn the hub so the new belt goes under and around to the other side. tuck the new belt
through the drive belt, going left. Belt is now where it belongs. Jim

I have the same problem sometimes with a
ymail address. I guess some companies are
just stupid and losing buiness.

To get the starter/gen belt off you pull hard on the main drive belt this spreads the transmission pulley enoufh to lock open a little then slip the str/gen belt under the engine drive pulley.

That was not the battle I was fighting it was hard are no starting in the end it was a weak/failing ignition coil a new coil fixed it. Why I assumed it had a yamahammer engine in it I dunno I called Buggies unlimited he told me cushman sold out to EZGO it may have a Kawasaki engine after looking hard yes its was a Kaw. engine. I ordered the parts for a late EZGO/kaw engine parts were correct. After I got the engine cover off it had a EZGO tag under the cover.

That explains why there is little to no info out there for a late model cushman BUT about all you need to know for a EZGO, EZGO repair manuals are a free down load :)....

To get the engine cover off the engine needs to come out I snipped the corners off the engine saddle the cover came off after I took the bolt about out on the front left spring shackle.
