Chevy long beds - differences in models

I'm looking at replacing my "farm truck" with one of our work trucks. The work truck's cab is perfect - but the bed is a mess. Rust over the rear wheels, dings and nicks covering the sides and the tailgate
was stolen years ago. Its a 2008 white long bed. Its my understanding that the 2007 to 2014 beds are the same but I can only find 2014 to 2017 beds for sale (surprisingly cheap - about $1000). In pictures
they look extremely similar - is there much difference between the model years?

How different? They both seem to have the "square" flare stamped in the metal around the rear wheel. After looking a bit more I found brand new 2016-2017 beds for $750.

Should be able to get it bolted on one way or another. Afterall I put a 76 GMC bed on a 72 Ford ! Only had to drill a couple of new bolt holes.

Just a thought: you could talk to someone who has a hollander interchange, or attempt to download it yourself. It should be able to tell you what years a part fits.

I am in the process of putting a new cab on my boys 07 2500, in the process of doing this looking for some parts. he has a new style 07 and the years that interchange for what I was looking at was late 07 to 2013, I think there is a change in 2014 but not sure all what.
a few years ago we redid a t-boned 08 duramax for my oldest son and got a good take off bed for 1200.00, hope this helps.

I checked it out closer. The newer beds have a "trim line" stamped into the metal running along the the lower 1/3 of the bed while the 07-13s are smooth. The rest of it lines up pretty well - except that.
