Larry asked that in my new flat tire post. We were going to go do a bushhog job this morning. The gooseneck was down by the back fence and the dew was slick so I hooked the trailer mover to the 3 point on the 960,well the starter that's been going,went. It clicked a few times the other day and smoked some but after a tap with a hammer it started, but not today. Oh well move implement to 640. Awe crap !!! Flat new tire. Cub is in the barn waiting on PTO seal and bearing. 3 tractors none leaving the barn today!!! We took it as a sign to take a day off!! Lol. There's a reason for everything!
 
Must be catching. An order I have been waiting on. Found out was not ordered. Loaded 500 gallons of liquid feed. Customer canceled order for a week. Helped load some fence post dropped two post on my hand. I should have just stayed in bed. Can't wait to see what Monday brings.
 
I?m very careful on Friday the 13th and a little bit superstitious as well on those days, when I was a senior in high school I was taking my girlfriend to the drive in theater one Fri 13th and it was drizzling rain that night, a big black angus cow stepped out in the road, I hit the brakes and slid into it, totaled my truck, always play it as safe as I can when the 13th falls on a Friday since then....
 
I know, but new tires came first. Just because we use the 640 more. Then PTO bearings on cub. Always something...........
 
i would say that means you need another tractor or 2, but in my experience, might mean that you just have 2 more to break down..
 
I know it is, I used to say just kick me while I am down, but never seem to get up.

Well I don't feel so bad now. Jesus said, in this world you will have trouble, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world. I spent almost all day getting rid of a virus on my phone.
 
Sounds like when it rains on you it comes down in buckets full.

My friend with horses has a sign too. Always has flat tires, dead battery, nothing starts, dirt if gas tank. Always says I have a tool, but can't find it. He has it all together, but can't find anything.
 
Its always a balance on maintaining an older machine,but for the machines I depend on regularly I always try to keep key parts stocked like coils,tune up kits,starters,alternators etc.
Then again some off the wall problem will show up.Best solution I've found is a backup machine for the ones I really need still a whole lot cheaper than buying new.
 

What I want to know is how did that bad starter get left on the 960? A few months ago I started making more use of my phone to help my memory. I stop and enter what I need to pick up at stores etc. when I see the need. It has been helping a lot.
 
I don't think it meant take the day off. I think it meant you'll have to find time for another fix it day (or week in my case LOL. That's why we like the old ones. Keith, Have a great day
 
Yep. No day off. Got tire fixed. Picked up 4 gates from feed store. Found out underground line location wasn't done yet, couldn't install gates. Back home cut grass. Sprayed our fence line with round up.Always something to do!
 
Hey rlp in Co. That's how we see it too. God's got a plan and when things don't go our way we realize it's His day to run things!!
 
I think in my case, it is called karma.
I need to take a week off.
My tire went flat the day after I fixed it.
I can not get the axle bearing off my 9n.
It is getting real old.
