I have all the design and fab work done on the 2 post canopy for the 431T. I adapted the gig which I built for the 2 post on my 831C to work on this one also. It just fastens to the end of the boom on my cherry picker, and locks into two pockets on the 2 post, plus I welded in an eye to hook a come-a-long into to level it while lifting. The last couple of days I fabed a lateral support to reinforce the 2 post from side to side. It bolts down to the top of the rockshaft housing and tranny. I believe this will hold up to any accident that could accrue. There are 4 bolts that go thru the rear axles that hold this to the tractor.
Today I will cut out 4 fishplates from 1/4" plate to reinforce the bottoms of the posts where they attach to the axle.
I ran into one problem with the build. There wasn't room for the remote levers between the 2 post and the 3pt control quadrant. So I cut the levers off, with plans to reconfigure them. It dawned on me that I had stashed a set of control cables off a snow plow truck, years back so I dug them out. I will build a nice console on the RH side of 2 post for the levers and an anchor bracket down by the service valves and run the 2 cables between. Problem solved.
Once that is all done, I will prep it for paint, but can't paint until it warms up. The swing out tool carriers on the sides of the tractor, and the grill guard are done also.
I have plenty of other projects to keep me occupied until then.

great work.. go buy a 1/2 inch piece of black fiber board and put under the top before you fasten the roof... It will act as a noise baffle. Otherwise you will go deaf. The metal roof will vibrate and bounce ALL the noise back into your ears. btdi.

16G steel doesn't rattle much, and I have a stiffener bend in the center of the roof to stop rattles. When I bolt the roof down after paint I will also apply adhesive strips designed for low pitch steel roofs between the frame and roof. This is the third one of these that I have built, and they DON'T rattle. The 2 post does transfer tranny noises though, which cab headliner material helps muffle.

You can also use floor board deading mat the the custom car guys use under carpet it has a peel off back and super sticky🔥

I read your post carefully hoping that there might be some sweet revenge here. Surely Super Loren ACG can?t have ran into a problem he didn?t fore see. I thought to myself surely there must be something that will stop the gravy train this guy sips out of. Well sure enough he found some work around and I bet in the end it?s going to look and work far better than he envisioned from the start. No doubt about it you are the best! You should meet my wife?s former boss Keith S. from Mankato Mn, he falls in poo and gets up smelling like a rose. His tales of the planets repetitively lining up for him can run the average guy into a deep depression.

Because it is a Turbocharged 188 diesel. Runs a modest 65Hp. If you want to see what is under the hood, reply and I will pull the hood tomorrow, and post pics. in a new thread.

Well, I will tell you a little secret. I am able to visualize the end project before I start it. That being said, I am a wrench twister also. There is where the conflict occurs. (form/cosmetics--- verses accessibility and service).
This is a good example. The 2 post is attached with 4 5/8" bolts thru the rear axles, but it needed more lateral strength, so add the V shaped lateral support and bolt it to the top of tranny. "problem solved"
It was evident once that I fabed the uprights that there was no room for the remote levers. so as I said I cut them off, and would fabricate linkage to make them work, not knowing what exactly that would be.
About3- 4:00pm each afternoon, the pondering chair and a barley pop or more, start the "what if scenario". Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and the light bulb is on.
I can't explain it any differently, as that is the way it goes for me.

I had a high school tech teacher Mr Pifer. He always said to get a project to turn out how you want it then there must be a picture if it in "your minds eye". He also said "it's a god daxx shame but out of 25 of you guys here there are about half who will never posses that minds eye picture type thinking". Loren I have never met or spoke to you however I know you have a minds eye picture before the tools come out. Keep the project update pictures coming.

I really have to build a canopy for my 990 DB at least and maybe a couple others too. Thanks for the ideas, just wish I had a source of cheap steel!
