Its called noctoc colonies..a blue green algae that is growing in
various places on my drive.

Tried bayers algae, mold killer.
Tried gasoline..wasn't fazed..
Tried dp soda crystals..from a suggestion at another chat site.
Call the country extension agent..never heard of it but said
I needed something with copper hydroxide in it. So now
I am trying Bonide 811 Copper 4E Fungicide. Think one of the
things I'm not understanding, is how it dies? Don't think the
whole mass just turns brown and dies at one time.
 
I could send you my neighbor. She can kill anything. I saw something like that. Guy poured diesel fuel tank cleaner on it. Thing was gone in a week.
 
I think they ment to tell you Copper Sulfate. Blue crystals in a bag.
Buy it on Ebay and put a cup in a hand pump sprayer. Fill with warm
water and shake it up. Let it sit awhile to dissolve. Spray on any
kind of mold and such. Good for mold on your roof too. Another thing
is vinegar. I had to spray some mold under a building with vinegar.
Knocked it out.
 
I posted about that stuff here before. Didn't know what it was and did not have a picture. It dry's up and turns black in dry weather and as soon as it rains it blooms up to green again. That's why I called it algae bloom. It might be a lecithin ?
IIRC what finally phased it was a diesel and gas mix sprayed onto it and then light it. CAUTION only try in far away from buildings, open area.

But the gas/burn idea, is a winner...really thought spraying it
would kill in..immediately. I'll look around for some diesel tank
cleaner.

I'm right next, like 50 foot from the township road. May
fire up the 8n and put the box blade on..see how it likes
being dragged out into the road..won't get all of it, but
it is concentrated between the tracks on my gravel
road..
 
update..bought a propane 'rosebud', bertha...weed killer
kit. burned the heck out of it but wasn't sure of being
successful until the recent moisture where it should have puffed up but didn't. stuff looks dead,
believe its a gonner...
